The image, REDBUDS, was taken just outside of Yosemite National Park along the Merced River. This particular image of the redbuds juxtaposed with the raging merced river was an image that I had been planing for some time. Unfortunately, it is a challenge to get these two elements to cooperate simultaneously. The vibrant colors of the redbuds and the hint of color in the rocks of the merced river will print well on almost any medium you choose. At a young age I was fascinated with cameras and the image making process. In my development, I became more observant of light and learned to create images that matched my vision. Thirty years later I still feel the need to create and share this vision. I do spend a lot of time looking up, clouds that produce filtered light and shadows that rake across a scene is what draws me to landscape photography. Yosemite and the Sierra Mountains are special places for me, there is no shortage of amazing moments and grand landscapes.
