The image, START OF SPRING BRIDALVAIL FALL, was taken in Yosemite National Park at the base of Bridalvail Fall. This location is relatively easy to reach by way of a short hike in the Yosemite Valley. The vibrant colors of the cold ice and water has a strong color contrast to the warm plants and rocks in this scene. Examples of my work can be found on line at bonafoto.com.
At a young age I was fascinated with cameras and the image making process. In my development, I became more observant of light and learned to create images that matched my vision. Thirty years later I still feel the need to create and share this vision. I do spend a lot of time looking up, clouds that produce filtered light and shadows that rake across a scene is what draws me to landscape photography. Yosemite and the Sierra Mountains are special places for me, there is no shortage of amazing moments and grand landscapes.
